James Reeno (SPAZZOID RECORDS/NYC RECORDS/KUPCAKE RECORDS) I've had the pleasure of knowing & working with Mike Collins for a few years now.
I was excited to see so many previously unreleased tracks being finally released...by BBE and this label, MIC.
I did not know about this one, though apparently released before the BBE compilation.
I am very happy to have discovered it and love all the tracks. Favorite track: TR Beats.

TheSlowMusicMovement Mike Collins is on a roll with this and the BBE Music unreleased Sun Palace material and as everyone is looking back in time for inspiration, apart from the lack of record sales(!), now seems to be the perfect time for this to see the light of day. Full support from The Slow Music Movement Favorite track: Phat Back Beats.

about

Our new MIC label launches with some previously unreleased and unheard material from UK DIY jazz funk maverick, Mike Collins, or more the brains behind that spacey Loft classic, ‘Rude Movements’ as Sun Palace. MIC presents a small archive of Collins’ material (recorded around and after the time of ‘Rude Movements’) and reveals the more experimental side of Collins’ production.

Five tracks that explore early, proto-house music, electro and fascinating drum machine observation. Essential issue!

Supported by The Vinyl Factory, Thump, Uncut, DJ Mag, Stamp The Wax, Music Is My Sanctuary, Bandcamp Weekly, Redlight Radio, NTS, Worldwide FM and BBC 6 Music.

DJs folk say:

Ruf Dug (Ruf Kutz) - “ It’s Amazing!”
Kalbata (Fortuna) - “Amazing release. A must have 12"
Stuart Leath (Emotional Rescue) - “Loving Latino Beats and Steppin Out”
Mudd (Claremont 56) - “I love this...it's absolutely killer!”
Max D (Future Times) - “Wooooowwwwwwww, so excited to peep this!”
AYBEE (Deep Blak) “This sound is often imitated but never duplicated! It puts you right there
in the pocket when musicians picked up new machines and made them funk! A Gem”
